Scratch in 700TS

Hi guys, I've got a really bad scratch in the front of my screen. This prevents me from using the touch, as the scratch is making a constant touch. Is it possible to get such a scratch/dent away, or do i have to change the whole touchpanel. I was wondering if its only a protective piece of plastic sitting in front, or if it's the actual touch panel????
If i will have to change the panel, where can i get one. And what would the cost be of it.

hmm, if you don't get the answer, maybe try to contact the Xenarc? And if you get some clue, please, post it here, too
I'm interested in that too, coz one of my touchscreens stopped responding in some areas
